Chin up, be strong brother.
It’s normal to suppress how you feel.
Those thoughts that plague your mind?
The things you say to yourself, be kind
Because those thoughts are real.
Friends around you are designed the same.
You can’t express how you feel..
Because the simple answer is “find a way.”
Or learn to deal,
With whatever consumes your beating heart.
I know it’s hard…
Because I’ve confined myself too.
Trying to live up to the general standard
Of what a real man should do.
Stand firm,
Be honest,
Provide for your loved ones.
Have answers to all of the problems,
Even when you don’t know how to solve them.
Moral codes we are bound to…
Loyalty means everything
Even in a world where,
Other men don’t abide
So women around you, categorize you.
Their actions become the norm
And when a real man needs help…
They think we are all the same
So we try to defend ourselves.
And find coping mechanisms
To maintain an image
That a man has all of the answers
In this age that we live in.
But it’s hardly the truth
So I say to you,
As a man, finding God
Is the safest thing to do.
Because when you feel like those feelings fall on deaf ears?
There’s only one person who will listen
And who always cares
Despite your faults, pitfalls, and sins you commit
God will never leave you,
Forsake you nor forfeit
So when everyone bails,
And it’s just you by yourself
Just know God is the only outlet
You should plug into for help
Being a man is hard
And the burdens you carry everyday
Are lifted by his hands
And received with undeserving grace
So man to man, I tell you
You’ll find a way thru
Even if people leave you for dead
God will revive and save you.
So the peace you seek that, perhaps,
That you haven’t found yet
Comes when you realize,
There’s only one outlet.
