Mountains

My sights are set on the top

I needed to get started

Looking at how far I’d have to go

Climbing, pulling, pushing, over obstacles

Motivated, feeling like anything is possible

Until…rocks tumble down the side

You hold on for your life as they land on top of you…

But my fate has been preordained

I knew that, to change views I’d, have to change my ways and

Being at the bottom doesn’t change much

Climbing this mountain

Thinking if, I stay at the bottom and dream of the top

How could I change my ways?

Because changing views is changing perspective and,

Climbing this mountain is a task I accepted

I can’t, seem to get over the hump

Because my vision of the top

Becomes smaller when I slump

But I continue to climb

Knowing that I’ll one day reach the peak

With a view so beautiful

And it captures everything

So don’t judge me for pushing through

And continuing to climb

Or how long it’ll take,

Because I’m taking my time

So every single day, when I open my eyes

I’m motivated by my peaks,

I learn from the valley’s

And I keep fresh in my mind….

That this mountain isn’t the only one that I’ll climb.
